Your Globe – Tree of Light
Buy your globe for the Tree of Light as a tribute to someone lost to you. This is your special way to honour a lost loved one while supporting the legendary Hospice patients in their last days. Your tribute will be added to the Book of Remembrance.
Highway Hospice’s annual Tree of Light is a cherished Durban tradition, bringing people together to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones. As one of our most important fundraising appeals of the year, each globe honours someone special while supporting our ongoing palliative care work.
Join us at Jameson Park on Friday, 4 December 2026, from 17h30 for an evening of remembrance, music and togetherness. Bring your family, friends and picnic favourites, or enjoy something delicious from the food stalls at the park.
The tree’s 9,000 globes will be illuminated from 19h30, shining throughout December in loving memory of those we hold dear. For a donation of R60 per globe, you can dedicate a light to someone special.
We will also livestream the lighting ceremony so that you can share this meaningful moment wherever you are. The wonderful feedback from previous years has shown us how much this connection means to those unable to attend.
Your name and dedication will be included in our Book of Remembrance and shared on our platforms, helping keep precious memories alive.
