“Make Every Day Mandela Day!” Oh, but if only we could all work daily to make a difference in the world. The good news is that our team does exactly that, and only with your support. We all know the history and relevance of Mandela Day, so it is not worth going through those details. What is worthwhile is describing this years’ project.
Here is a glimpse of the medical storage area while we were cleaning up for Monday morning. As you can see, many diapers and other consumables are kept here for the staff to take out to patients on their rounds in eThekwini.
The shelving was old, and in many cases bent and creaking wooden book shelves. Also, there was little conformity and it all looked higgiledy-piggiledy.
The Woolworths West Street team arrived and put the work in to complete the room. With shelving, storage and extendible desks they have set the platform for us to keep things in order. It really is a beautiful and clean room now, and exactly what these valuable donations require for safekeeping!
The fabulous news is that the Woolworths team have decided to adopt us as an ongoing project! This make is a very special relationship, and the type we see often as inspired by the great man himself! Thank you Woolies guys, it was a pleasure to host you, and to share the work, fun and games!
