Is it not fitting that Heritage Month aligns with Arbor Week? Trees are such a part of our country, they deliver oxygen, beauty and life to our world. They can last generations and deliver so many memories. I am sure we can all remember special trees we used to climb or sit under throughout our lives? A huge thanks to the Inanda community for arranging to plant trees and some vegetables at our Community Hospice in 2022.

The “Pom Pom” tree is the tree of the year this year, the potential of beautiful flowers to adorn our special place where we care for patients. One has been planted on each side of the entrance, and I so look forward to driving in there in times to come. Yellowood trees are also included in the delivery, and our national trees will create a great ambiance in years to come!

The vegetables are always a welcome addition to the facility. We remember Sister Lindeni, who always loved to see veggies growing in Inanda. It is an effective source of nutrition for our patients, and a renewable resource we can provide. The usual challenges of watering and the pesky chickens are always in the background, but overall well worth the effort always!
So it is with gratitude that we celebrated Arbor week as well as Heritage Month with the community. So many people added to making this happen, and so many people assisted on the day. As always, we thank you on behalf of our patients, their families and friends and wish you all health and prosperity in the months to come!
